Invoices
The Invoices tab shows all invoice records for a client, including which work entries were included and the total value.
Invoice records
Invoices in barebill are records — they represent invoices you have raised in your external accounting or invoicing tool (Xero, MYOB, FreshBooks, etc.). barebill does not generate invoice documents.
Each invoice record stores:
- Invoice date
- Total hours and amount
- Grouped invoice lines (by work category)
- The individual work entries included
Viewing an invoice
Click any row in the invoices list to see:
- The invoice lines (grouped summary)
- The individual work entries that were included
How invoices are created
Invoices are created from the Timesheet tab via Prepare Invoice. See Timesheet → Preparing an invoice.
Invoice status on work entries
Once an entry is invoiced, it is marked in the timesheet and excluded from future invoice preparation. The invoice number or reference is stored against each entry.
